Michael is an Environmental Scientist and accredited Land Contamination Auditor (Victoria and South Australia) with more than 28 years experience. He specialises in resolving contaminated land challenges within a broad range of environmental and commercial settings. In particular, he works closely with:

  • Property Developers who have received planning permit conditions that relate to land contamination and environmental auditing, where he can assist in resolving planning obstacles for land development;

  • Architects, particularly those who are involved in developments for land with legacy site contamination from former industrial/commercial activities;

  • Project Management firms to assess, plan and remove contamination from their land development projects;

  • Environmental and Property Lawyers who are working with clients in relation to contaminated land matters, including in response to environmental regulatory agencies;

  • Australian Government Departments from Local, State, Federal and Defence sectors in relation to a variety of contaminated land challenges; and

  • Large industrial operations such as oil and gas, ports and large land portfolio owners and managers.

Michael has a strong working knowledge in all aspects of contaminated land management, including property due diligence, soil and groundwater investigation, landfill gas risk, interpretation of chemical analytical data, quality assurance procedures and remediation technologies.

He has worked on a wide variety of sites including former gasworks, service stations, landfills, coal seam gas facilities and large urban linear construction projects (e.g. freeway construction).
